Under Dressed

The most obvious difference between Americans and Europeans is laziness. Americans just don't seem to care as much, at least when it comes to appearance. Here I am at school, a typical University in the U.K. and everywhere I look people dress as if they are headed to church.
I got on the bus this morning wearing jeans, my furry jacket and Ugg boots. I was completely under dressed. Every girl around me had on leggings or tights, a skirt or dress, a nice knee length coat, and boots with 3 inch heels.
Just to go to school.
I felt completely out of place. I give them a lot of credit though, it can't be easy. Every day we deal with rain, bitter cold winds and ice. Not to mention the fact that I have to literally run to catch a bus quite often.
I couldn't do it in heels. It's lucky I'm tall I guess, it's a lot easier to get away with wearing flat shoes if you don't stick out so much.
I'm not really sure what to do now though. I like the idea of dressing up, it can be fun every once in a while, but not all the time. I don't even own enough dress clothes to wear them to school everyday.
I'm guessing companies like Levi don't do too well over here. I tried counting how many people I actually saw wearing jeans today, there was only a handful.
Even the boys here look their best for school. Sweat pants are unheard of! Boys mostly wear pea coats with scarves to stay warm. Sports coats are popular as well.
Well i guess I learned my lesson, I think I am just going to have to make changes or deal with the fact that I'll never blend in over here.

I guess I have some shopping to do.
