Scottish Adventures

Sorry I haven't had much time to blog lately, packing for our 5 week backpacking adventure is taking up a lot more of my time than i expected. So here's a little update..

Scotland is beautiful. Tessa and I traveled 6 and 1/2 hours by bus this weekend to visit Edinburgh and it was well worth the drive. We got to visit the beautiful Edinburgh Castle that sits on the top of an old volcano overlooking the whole city. It was incredible. We spent the night on a scary ghost tour of the world's most haunted city, it was very creepy.
The next morning we went on a 3 and a half hour walking tour that allowed us to see everything in and around Edinburgh. It was an awesome tour and the best part was it was FREE! I highly recommend it to anyone. Obviously the most exciting part
for me was all the fun Harry Potter facts i learned because JK wrote the first book right there in the city. I even went in the cafe she wrote it at. (There is a lot more to that story and it deserves it's own post so I will come back to that).
Edinburgh has such amazing history to it, there were so many things I had never learned in school or even heard of before. I left the tour full of "fun facts".
I searched long and hard to try and find Emma's good friend Dave Matthews (not the singer) but sadly, there were no missionaries walking the streets. Sorry Em!
I wish I could have stayed longer in beautiful Scotland. A trip to visit Nessy is definitely on my to do list. But until then, I have more adventures to look forward to.
