The craziest place on earth

This is a post explaining to everyone out there how crazy my life in Logan is..
So, in just the past year I have been to 9 different countries, experienced all different cultures, eaten random foods, and seen unbelievable things but I honestly think that if anyone, from any of those places, moved here for a year they wouldn't know what to do?? (There are both good and bad things that go along with this.)

My reasoning:
1. Even though I go to a good size school with about 13,179 undergraduate students, you would never know it because you see the same people everyday and it literally feels like there are 15 kids on campus. And I don't really know how to put this, but, it kinda feels like a kids birthday party rather than a college experience, if that makes any sense. For example, rather than having crazy keggers, we have gold fish racing with non-caffeinated beverages. Not that there is anything wrong with it, hey, we all like different things, it's just an unusual experience. I think that's something I had never really noticed much before I went to Europe and then after returning I realized just how different Utah is from the "real world".

2. Everyone here is REALLY, REALLY nice. Like almost freaky nice. Don't get me wrong, this is obviously a good thing especially because I really do think they are sincere about it. But it's almost stepford-ish. Like a bunch of little robots roaming around campus programed to smile and wave at you. It is a very welcoming place.

3. If you are a girl that is my age, living in Logan, you are most likely married. Before I came up here for school a lot of people told me that in a year or 2 most of my friends would be married but I didn't think it was possible. Sure, I knew a few of them would do it but I had no idea at all just how many. These are the facts; right now my roommates and I have a whopping 26 wedding invites hanging on our refrigerator. I did not make this number up. I counted. Pinky swear. Annnnnd I have another stack back at home in Salt Lake. It's ridiculous!! Don't get me wrong, I am very happy for all my friends. And I have had a great time looking at engagement photos, attending bridal showers and hearing honeymoon stories, but I just had no idea it would all happen so fast. I still feel like a child and all around me everyone is growing up (this kinda contradicts the whole kids party thing I talked about before...). Don't worry though, I know that this wedding stuff is NOT for me!! At least not for another 5 to 10 years. Anyways, the point of my story was, I am basically left friendless. Sad, I know. That's why I am moving in with all boys next semester. There just aren't any girls left to live with haha.

4. Logan is beautiful. So far all I have had to say have been negative things and I don't want you to think I am stuck up here hating life. I live in a gorgeous city. Our campus is above the main street in Logan so we can see down into the city from school. It is really amazing. We are right at the base of the canyon so every direction that I look I can see beautiful snow capped mountains.

5. Utah State is a great school. It really is. As far as education goes I really feel that I have learned a lot over the past 2 and a half years that i have been here (crazy, I know). I am in love with my major so far, my teachers are all awesome, and I feel right at home whenever i am on campus.

I know this has been a totally random post, but I figure many of you reading this probably know nothing about Logan, Utah, so why not? Basically the point I was trying to make all along is that, I love Logan and it will always feel like home for me but, in 3 more semesters I plan to peace out and never look back. I think 4 years is about all a girl like me can handle here.
