Puerto Rico was unbelievable.
I highly suggest it.

These are just some pictures from the island of Vieques. It's been rated as the #2 most beautiful beach in the world. Like I said, paradise.

So here's how the trip went:
Our first day and a half was kinda slow, we were exhausted from our red eye flight so we took a while to explore and get our heads on straight. Unfortunately, our arrival to the island was greeted with bronchitis. Only hours after landing I found myself coughing, sneezing and fighting a fever. But the show must go on right? So I chocked down some extremely overpriced Advil and rallied.

After a good nights rest we set out for a little adventure.
Some calling around led us to a local tour group who helped us find our way to the rain forest.
El Yunque {the rain forest} is currently being considered for one of the 7 wonders of the world. And if it does win, I will gladly say that it deserves that title. What a beautiful place.

After the hike, we did the coolest thing ever!!
Have you ever heard of a bio-luminescent bay? Well I hadn't either. In certain parts of the world, when it gets dark outside, the algae in the water glows. Not a little, but very bright and it looks just like glitter. It was magical. I wish I had pictures to show you guys but it wouldn't have shown up anyways. We canoed up a river about a mile and sailed all around the bay waiting for it to get dark. It was so beautiful. You will just have to take my word for it.

We spent the night in Fajardo that night in a darling hotel and woke up at 5:45 the next morning to catch a ferry to Vieques. This was my favorite day of all. I love the ocean more than anything and this was the ultimate beach.

The rest of the trip was filled with parties, lots of wonderful new friends, amazing food and swimming, of course.

BTW our hostel was incredible. If you are ever in Puerto Rico definitely stay there.
