My latest obsession is the TV show Mad Men. If you have never seen it go on Netflix right now and start. I can't stop watching, which is part of the reason I had a lazy day.
On that note, here are the top five things I'm obsessed with lately:
5. Fresh fruit.
Maybe it's just because it's summer or maybe it's New York, but the fruit here is amazing. I swear I crave it more than candy. It's better than candy!! And I love how every where I turn there is a fruit vender. Every sidewalk, outside every market, all over the place. It makes the city so much more colorful.
4&3. Friends, train rides & good books.
Two of my very good friends are living in New Jersey for the summer and I am so thankful for it. It is hard to move away from everything you know and love. Having people even kinda close makes things a million times easier. As soon as I get to New Jersey it just feels like we are all back in Logan again. And I actually don't mind the train ride. It only takes an hour and if you bring a good book it goes pretty quickly.
By the way, the book I just finished reading Such A Rush (pictured above) is a book we are doing the PR for. It comes out July 10th and you should all read it.
2. Organic grocery stores.
It's true, I was born with a little "granola" in me. I don't love spending a bit more on my groceries but after living in Logan for such a long time I am in love with Trader Joe's and Whole Foods. Everything there just looks better, and tastes better too. Last night I was walking around the city and I found myself wondering through Whole Foods, it's my new favorite place to kill time. It's just so busy and fresh, and the people there are a lot more interesting than regular shoppers too. Plus, Trader Joe's has 2 buck Chuck!
1. The city of New York.
I am obsessed with this city. There is just nothing like it. All of the locals that I meet here think I'm crazy because I am so excited to do all the touristy things, but I just can't get enough. I have no idea how long I will be here but I know I don't want to waste a second of my time.
