Fall at the Ranch
Malibu Ranch Fall Apple Picking from annie jackson on Vimeo.
This is my fourth blog post about the Malibu Dude Ranch in Milford, PA. You readers are probably sick of hearing about how much I love this place, but I can't help it, it's our little western retreat away from our busy city life.
Katie has become quite close with the darling Detweiler family that owns the ranch and boy do they spoil us. From the moment we walk in the door we are treated like family. Greeted with hugs and a hot meal. It's amazing how complete strangers have the ability to make me feel so at home. I'm not sure they even realize how much their kindness means to us. As three twenty-something girls trying to make a life in the city, we forget how nice it is to be in a warm house filled with love and good people. Although the ranch offers endless amenities and activities, it's the people and experiences that make it such a special place to visit. (Do I sound cheesy yet? Oops!)
I look forward to our ranch trips just as much as I do with any vacation. An escape from reality, where we get to pretend to be cowgirls and forget all our daily stresses. As my parents said, "who knew it would take moving East to make me fall in love with the Wild West?"
HUGE thank you to the Detweiler family for their endless kindness.
Above is a little video showing some of the highlights from our most recent Ranch visit + apple picking upstate.
