This was, quite possibly, the most wonderful vacation of my life.

First of all, we were in Ireland which, in itself, is a completely magical country. Every inch of earth is overgrown with lush, emerald grass, the air is thick with fog + it smells like the salty sea.

The people are wonderful. Every passer-by offers a smile and a warm welcome. We made new friends hourly, from chatty hotel clerks, to friendly waiters and cab drivers who stunned us with their knowledge of Irish history.
Best of all - this was the first European vacation with all four of us. Together.

My parents and I met Emma in Ireland at the conclusion of her summer study abroad in Paris. I had been to Dublin once before when I was living in England, but only for a long weekend and I could not wait to be back.

We were lucky enough to have our last 2 days in Dublin overlap with my Murphy cousins trip as well, so we were able to spend a little time with them - something we have talked about doing for years, I was so thrilled it all worked out.

We flew into Dublin on a brisk Saturday morning and stayed there for 4 days. From there we rented a car (ahhhh!) and drove to Kilkenny.

Kilkenny is probably the most charming town I've ever stayed in. The buildings are pastel colored and the streets are cobblestone. It felt a little bit like Disneyland (in the best way possible).

From Kilkenny we drove to The Rock of Cashel, then onto Dingle. We covered most of the Dingle Peninsula before heading to the Cliffs of Moher, leaving Moher we drove through the Burren - probably my favorite spot on the trip - and then onto Galway.

We were very busy! Seriously, we didn't stop for 8 straight days. And I couldn't have loved it more. Thank you, thank you mom + dad for planning the world's best family vacation. I am already looking forward to my next trip back.

I have 1000+ more pictures to edit, but for now these will do:
